Care built around your comfort
For many anxious patients, knowing that comfort is part of the plan changes everything. We take time to understand your concerns and to make treatment feel manageable.
Whether it’s a long-delayed cleaning or more involved work, our goal is a calm experience — and a reason to stop putting off the care you deserve.
Simple things that help beyond sedation
Sedation is one tool, but comfort starts before it. Telling us about your anxiety lets us go at your pace, explain each step before it happens, and agree on a signal to pause anytime. Many people find that being in control — knowing what’s coming and that they can stop — is as calming as anything.
For treatment itself, we’ll match the approach to you: for some, a relaxed, well-paced visit is enough; for others, nitrous oxide or another option makes the difference. The plan is always yours.
Common questions
- Never. We meet you where you are, without lectures. A lot of our patients come to us precisely because fear kept them away, and our focus is simply on getting you comfortable and healthy again at a pace that works for you.
- It depends on the option. After nitrous oxide, which wears off quickly, most people drive themselves. Other forms of sedation may require a driver. We’ll tell you exactly what to plan for based on the option that fits you.
- Yes. Nitrous oxide — often called laughing gas — is a drug-free, needle-free option that helps many anxious patients relax during treatment and wears off quickly so you can get on with your day. It’s one of the sedation options we can discuss for your comfort.
- Not usually. It’s sometimes called “sleep dentistry,” but that isn’t quite accurate — with most options you stay relaxed and comfortable while still awake. We’ll explain exactly what to expect for the option that fits you.
- When provided appropriately and tailored to your health, sedation is a well-established way to help anxious patients. We review your health history and discuss the right option for you.
